Thank you, Josh.

While serving in Afghanistan, Sgt. Josh Elliot was severely injured when he stepped on an I.E.D.  You can read more at http://www.kimatv.com/news/local/120667424.html.  Josh and his family face a long road of recovery.  Please help us make that road a little smoother.  Every penny donated to this site goes directly to Josh and his family to help pay for travel, lodging, recovery, and retrofitting their home to accommodate mobility devices.  We know that things are tough all over.  If you aren't in a position to donate, that's o.k., but please forward this link, or share it on your Facebook.  Join our website, and help us let Josh know that we are thankful for what he, and all military service members, do for us and our country.

Update from DeLynn:  Josh received his Purple Heart today from the only 4-star general in the US Marines. He was as nervous as I've ever seen him! It was a very nice ceremony. Josh also was able to get into his chair and motor to PT today. He has surgery tomorrow, and a slight temp. tonight. Pray the temp. goes down, and surgery goes well. We are tired tonight and ready for bed. Long day for us all.

Josh and Sam relax at the end of the day. We found out Josh doesn't have to go to surgery until friday. His stitches are healing up very well, and he got a half of face shave. Still has stitches in his chin, so hair had to stay. He's still spiking a temp. at night, so please pray they don't find any infection. Thanks for all your prayers and support. We continue to keep the White Swan family in our thoughts and prayers.

Josh update: Josh had surgery yesterday. It went okay, not as good a report as we had hoped, so it was a bit disheartening. The evening after surgery is always difficult, so it's not so easy for me (emotionally) to post. Today, he is just as chipper as can be...

Amother busy day for Josh. He had some distinguished visitors, including the highest up in the Navy, some highups in the Marines, and his cousin and wife Jorel and Jade, and a friend from Iwakuni, Japan. Took Josh outside and down the ramp to the McDonalds, and set down with Jorel and Jade, Sam, DeLynn and myself and drank coffee.

Yesterday some of the surgens came in to work on Josh and gave us a real good report. No sign of the fungas infection that he has been fighting with. They took some cultures or whatever they do and sent them to the lab. He goes in again tomorro and if he still looks clean, they may start to close up and do some reconstruction on his wounds.

Great day for Josh today. Surgery went well. The drs took a couple of culture samples, and as long as they come back negative, they are ready to close Josh's wounds. Hallelujah!! We have a video conference with the drs at Balboa tomorrow so we can start the transition to SoCal if all goes well, maybe next week. The pic is of Josh and Sam showin' a little love to Mr. Owl, who was sent to them from Darci, Adam and Owen who are still in Japan. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. You guys bless us so much!

It appears Josh is going to Balboa in San Diego next week, if an Air Force plane is available. To those of you who are thinking of sending things this way, you may want to wait until we have an address at Balboa. Thanks for all the cards, well wishes and prayers. Josh is in surgery this morning-we pray for a great report from the docs: no bacteria or fungus. God still does great things, even on Friday the 13th

We got Josh outside again today. The Marine Silent Drill Team came from Marine Barracks and performed for our wounded warriors. They were impressive and Josh enjoyed the show -Dennis

Kyle and GySgt Camarillo from Japan. Josh was a lot more awake today. We got his medicine changed around and it seems to work a lot better for him. Tomorro is another surgury day. We may get transferred to San Diego this week. That move is comeing but is contingent on a number of things. Everybody here has been so good to us. It is hard to imagine that we can be treated any better in San Diego but we have very special friends there and am looking forward to the move.

Josh had a much better day today. When I got there this morning he was already up, in his chair and gone to PT. In good spirits and pain under control. Back pain is even much better. He has a friend over there tonight that he worked with the first time that he was in Japan. He came all the way up from Florida

Today is sunday morning. The days kind of flow together. On friday, Josh was headed into surgury and was told by the doctor that if they did skin grafts to his legs that he could still get on the plane wednesday. Josh said do it, so he was down at OR for a long time...
